sire of Majesticperfection and Shanghai Bobby), Stormy Atlantic, Tabasco Cat and Consolidator. From the Danzig branch of Northern Dancer, Quality Road has sired grade one winner Illuminant out of a mare by Polish Numbers and grade one winner Bleeker Street out of a mare by Danzig son Exchange Rate. There are also Quality Road line stakes out of mares by Danzig line horses War Front (sire of Declaration of War, The Factor, Summer Front, Declaration of War and Hit It a Bomb) and Hard Spun. Other Danzig line stallions that could be considered here include Belong To Me, Langfuhr (sire of Lawyer Ron), Concerto (sire of Bellamy Road) and War Chant.
Quality Road has an exceptionally strong strike-rate with mares by Dixie Union (by Northern Dancer son, Dixieland Band), getting Champion Caledonia Road and grade one winners Klimt and Salty. Mares by Dixie Union son, Union Rags, could be very interesting as his dam is a Gone West/Nijinsky II cross, like Quality Road. Out of mares from the male line of Nureyev’s three-quarters brother, Sadler’s Well, Quality Road and sons have four stakes winners, including Champion National Treasure out of mares by Medaglia d’Oro (sire of Violence Bolt d’Oro and Warrior’s Reward), a son of El Prado, also sire of Kitten’s Joy (broodmare sire of a Quality Road line stakes winner) and Artie Schiller. From the Galileo branch there are two graded stakes winners, and Galileo can be brought in U.S. by Magician and Cape Blanco and Sadler’s Wells is sire of Powerscourt.
Quality Road is sire of the grade two winning juvenile, Road to Victory out of a mare by Tiznow, a son of Cee’s Tizzy from the Relaunch branch of In Reality. Sons of Tiznow include Gemologist (broodmare sire of a Quality Road grade two winner), Colonel John and Tiz Wonderful. The Relaunch line can also be brought in through Honour and Glory (sire of Put it Back), Skywalker, Bertrando and Officer.
